Department
SABIC`s Technology and Innovation (T&I) network consists of more than 1700 employees across six research- and ten application centers around the world. SABIC’s innovation journey is a key enabler for achieving the company’s vision to become the world leader in the chemical industry. Within the T&I organization, teams work to identify and drive the developments of new products, applications, and processes that can enable the vision of our product portfolio of the future. Understanding customer needs and connecting them with potential opportunities for SABIC’s business units is one of the crucial responsibilities of the T&I team.
JOB SUMMARY
This position seeks high energy, goal-focused individuals who are proactive in problem solving and have the leadership and communication skills needed to deliver results aligned with the ambitions of our Polymers business and SABIC's 2025-growth strategy.
How You Can Be the Impact
- Lead and execute the technical deliverables and technologies that are necessary in the design and commercialization of new polymers and polymer blends and/or in the optimization of existing polymer-based products.
- Work closely with customers and commercial teams to evaluate and identify opportunities that drive meaningful business growth through the development of new polymers resins and blends and/or opportunities to access new markets opportunities with our existing resin portfolio
- Establish inclusive and early partnerships with ancillary technical functions such as process technology, analytical technology, and core R&D to proactively plan and gain inputs on development of new programs
- Partner with suppliers to identify material solutions that enable our engineering materials with enhanced effects, reduced costs, or to provide other strategic supply chain results
- Where appropriate use statistical design of experiments to deliver while inventing, developing, and implementing new technology to our engineering thermoplastics portfolio
- Follow your ideas from the lab to the market. Use creativity, commitment and drive in the rigor required to transform new products from laboratory-scale ideas to commercial reality
What Matters to SABIC
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymers Science, or related field preferred. M.S. with additional experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience (Ph.D.) or 6 years’ experience (M.S.) in these fields
- Ability to reach across organizational lines with sound communications and interactions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deliver on their objectives
- Knowledge of building intellectual property with demonstrated examples of successful translation of technical inventions to business profit would be a plus
- Experience with statistical analysis tools and design of experiment preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
