The Product Manager, Neurology is responsible for, but not limited to, developing marketing plans, strategies, and sales tools (i.e., marketing collaterals, specification sheets, and training materials), supporting Nihon Kohden’s existing product lines and promoting the successful introduction of new neurology products. In addition, the Product Manager will be responsible for tracking the successful market penetration of products through their life cycles and recommending product improvements.
The Product Manager will play a strategic and critical role in Nihon Kohden’s Neurology business growth. Individual will ensure that the Nihon Kohden neurology product portfolios and associated OEM offerings meet the needs of the Neurology marketplace with respect to clinical performance, technical capabilities, and product quality.
The position provides product support to the sales team, Regional VP, Clinical Resource Manager, Marketing Communications & Tradeshow Manager, Health System Alliance Neurology Representative, and the Account Executives (AEs). The Product Manager will support the sales force through the development of appropriate sales tools, including but not limited to literature, competitive analyses, sales aids, point of sales materials, and educational materials to train new hire & experienced sales representatives to perform product demonstrations integral to the sales process.
Target salary is $87,000 or above, depending on years of experience and expertise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAIN DUTIES
- Develop Voice of the Customer engagements to identify product enhancements and market opportunities
- Lead product release process per the Product Launch Process for assigned products and maintain the product development road map.
- Support the technology integration strategy for Neurology and Patient Monitoring.
- Supports new product launches and presentations
- Coordinate the collection, description, analysis, and prioritization of requests for new product functionality from customers.
- Support marketing, sales, and support through leading the development and maintenance of various technical marketing collateral including application notes, FAQs, product notes, user guides, field training presentations, online marketing content and demos.
- Develop firsthand, in-depth knowledge of competitive products and maintain technical analysis of competitive strengths and weaknesses, feature sets, underlying technology, product workflow, usability, etc. to establish technical differentiation and feature/benefit statements.
- Solicit customer, prospect, and partner input to understand market challenges and requirements.
- Coordinate demonstrations at trade shows to ensure monitoring products are correctly displayed to enhance customer perception.
- Interact with NK and OEM engineers to support product design input, development and evaluation of devices and technology.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Certification / Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Management, or related discipline; relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of degree
- MBA, MHA, or equivalent master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience with product management or clinical experience in a related field
- Experience selling enterprise-wide systems solutions to the administrative levels of medical centers, hospitals and IDNs preferred
- IOM or EEG experience preferred
- Neuro ICU experience preferred
Competencies Required:
- Strong technical and clinical knowledge of medical devices and operational procedures
- Ability to effectively manage client relations, within these complex accounts throughout the sales process, and the maintenance of these key relationships serving as reference centers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to make group presentations in front of management, peers, customers, or other groups as necessary
- Understanding of Regulatory & Quality requirements
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
SCHEDULE: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company’s discretion.
PHYSICAL: Generally, may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 20 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication in English. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.
TRAVEL: Approximately 40%
ACCESS to CUSTOMER SITES: It is an essential function of this position to perform duties in healthcare facilities, and to achieve the necessary vendor credentialing. As part of this process, it is typically required to provide proof of vaccinations (including for COVID-19), and related personal medical information, and to comply with other criteria as needed to be able to work at customer sites. Typical vendor credentialing expenses will be paid/reimbursed by the Company
