Cimarron is seeking Product Repair/Modification Technicians to support a large aerospace and defense customer at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida!

Key Duties:

  • Lead the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by overseeing the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Oversee assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Direct troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Oversee validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Document procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
  • Inspect components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Lead and supervises others to perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).
  • Provide training and mentors others.
  • Work under minimal direction.



Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
  • Ability to interpret 3D engineering drawings.
  • General shop skills, including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and contamination control of precision clean systems.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in a variety of precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties in multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Complete knowledge and the ability to apply knowledge of production quality systems and requirements in daily operations.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, including detecting, reporting, and correcting safety issues.
  • Ability to apply physical, mechanical, electrical, and scientific skills to identify, troubleshoot, and solve problems on the job.
  • Ability to locate and isolate the problem, identify possible solutions, and select approaches that are practical and effective.
  • Structural skills, including complex precision match drilling through a variety of materials, including metallic and composite. Experience drilling, installing, and repairing composite materials.
  • Familiarity with the tools, equipment, installation techniques, and acceptance criteria for a broad range of fastener types, including threaded fasteners, threaded inserts, tubular rivets, solid rivets, blind bolts, and lock bolts.
  • Mechanical skills in fluids, pneumatics, and hydraulics experience, including tube forming and fabrication techniques such as bending, flaring, and precision cleaning of fuel, oxidizer, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with a variety of fluid system fastening and sealing techniques, including flared fittings, flanged fittings, beam seal fittings, vacuum fittings, and pressure seal installation/inspection.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of related experience, Associate degree and 5 or more years related experience or Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years related experience.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Experience working on human-rated spacecraft hardware.
  • Previous Boeing technical certifications and training.
  • Previous experience and training in Boeing Common System production software applications (MES-CAPP, NCM) and model based instructions (MBI).
  • Previous experience loading or de-servicing spacecraft commodities and use of Self Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCAPE).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methods and the ability to apply knowledge to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
