Darling Ingredients is seeking a Production Associate / Security Guard to join our team at our plant located in San Angelo, TX. This role will be responsible for performing general plant labor duties during the week and will also be responsible for performing security tasks during weekend hours to ensure that the property, equipment, and personnel are secure.

This position will be scheduled to work Wednesday-Sunday on day shift.

Job Summary:

Primary responsibility will be to perform general plant labor, to include housekeeping, cleaning, painting, grounds keeping in all areas of the plant as scheduled during the week. This position will also be responsible for performing security tasks during weekend hours to ensure that the property, equipment, and personnel are secure.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• General plant labor.
• Housekeeping, hosing down floors, moping, sweeping, emptying trash, picking up trash, etc.
• Shovel and clean up spills in the plant.
• Keep barrels emptied of trash and product.
• Clean equipment from top to bottom.
• Keep floor drains cleaned out and covers on drains.
• Paint as directed.
• Maintains environment by monitoring activity on property and report any concerns to management.
• Perform security and fire inspections of Company property as assigned.
• Maintain logs and records as required.
• Perform security checks at wastewater (certain areas) on a regular basis (especially of Sundays).
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to climb stairs and silos.
• Ability to stand for entire shift.
• Physical Demands:
• Standing, climbing, walking, and working overhead
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Work Environment:

• Working inside and outside of plant environment.
• Hot and cold temperatures
• Must be willing to work all shifts including over-time and weekends as needed.
