Position Summary: To assist the Shift Supervisor in distributing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required material is supplied to the departments according to the production schedule and expediting and prioritizing of work orders for those departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Process orders (sort them by sizes etc.) and place orders in correct envelopes by shipping method.
2. Ensure all orders are filled with the correct emblems.
3. Distribute and move work orders among the operators and from the operators to the next department and on time to Shipping.
4. Prioritize rush orders and make sure they get shipped.
5. Through proactive leadership and effective regular communication, leads and monitors performance of any direct reports.
6. Review production reports daily/weekly and update Shift Supervisor on training plans for those below their position standard.
7. Works with Customer Support and other Penn team members to ensure the department needs are met, machinery is in good repair and any issues or problems are resolved in an efficient and professional manner.

8. Keeps management appraised on all critical operations related matters on a timely basis so issues can be addressed in an expeditious manner.

9. Participates in continuous improvement processes to make department more efficient and will makes recommendations to improve production flow and quality of products.

10. Investigates & stays abreast of manufacturing developments, LEAN activities, best practices, and
WRAP Certification requirements & recommends program changes as indicated.

11. Performs duties in compliance with Federal, state, and local laws and regulations and adheres to all
Penn Emblem policies and safety procedures.

12. Personifies the attitude (externally and internally) “the customer ALWAYS comes first” when conducting daily interactions with customers, on the phone/e-mail and in-person, at the highest level of integrity and service.

13. Performs other duties as required by business needs and as assigned by Production Manager and
Plant Manager.

Primary Outcomes:
1. Ensure all orders are shipped on time and accurately to our customers.
2. Quality and safety standards are in place and being met or exceeded.
3. Best practices in daily operations are implemented, practiced & regularly reviewed.

Position Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production supervision position.

Company Related Worked in manufacturing in the personal identification or related
Knowledge manufacturing area.

Technical Training Familiar with ERP or MRP systems & their utilization in operations.
Or Certifications:

Functional Knowledge of ship times, stitch counts, thread colors,
Knowledge: fabric and processes.

Skills - Knowledge - Abilities:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

  • Ensures that products are always of the highest quality.
