SUMMARY
Part of IDEX Corporation, Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE LLC) is a manufacturer and supplier of high performance, niche elastomer seals used in critical applications around the globe. 1. PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The purpose of the Production Lead is to aid in the proficiency of the shift, driving optimal performance within cells by providing support to production team members and ensuring adherence to quality standards, company policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Production Lead must communicate regularly with other shift leads, supervisors, and managers to ensure that the shift is running smoothly and problems that arise are communicated in a timely manner. The Production Lead should have a good understanding of all functions of production so that he/she may help with any training that is needed or any issues that arise.

3. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including but not limited to:
- Lead by influence and consistently drive performance that achieves & exceeds KPIs respective to the shift in terms of efficiency, quality, and safety, providing guidance and expertise to the team members on the shift
- Communicate with cross-functional team members as needed, likely regarding job status updates, obstacles to performance, etc.
- Build higher levels of rapport with individual team members to promote engagement, resolve roadblocks, and collect ideas for improvement to be communicated to the Production Supervisor or Managers
- Drive improvements in performance by ensuring adherence to SOPs and helping to identify areas of improvement or need; the Lead is responsible for timely communication through the appropriate channels for suggested changes to any policy/procedure
- Conduct shift handover meetings with the other Production Leads to facilitate a smooth transition between shifts & focus on achieving KPIs for Production, troubleshooting issues, and setting the next shift up for success
- Conduct daily startup/shift end meetings with team members to prioritize daily jobs/tasks and ensure everyone has what they need to be win as a team
- Report issues that arise on the shift, ensuring the Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager is aware of obstacles that stop the shift from meeting targets or any behavior issues that may occur on the shift
- Work alongside other Production Leads to ensure a consistent message is delivered on key communication items
- Assist the Production Supervisor in the training & development of members of the team/shift to raise overall skill level within the organization
- Contribute to overall departmental training plans, working with the Production Supervisor to give clear & concise feedback to the individual operators, and help set expectations accordingly
- Communicate to the Production Manager any staffing needs or disciplinary issues regarding company policy
4. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- At least 1 year of prior experience in lead position in a manufacturing environment preferred
- 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to read & write in English
- Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing math
- Must be proficient at Microsoft Suite programs, specifically Outlook
- Must be an effective communicator with a proven track record of leading people
5. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Majority of time is spent standing or walking
- Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear plugs in designated areas throughout the shop
