Production Manager - Design - Coachella Valley Music Festival 2023
- Design project plans and scaled drawings for festivals using Vectorworks and may be asked to design in other BIM software and CAD also.
- Work with Festival Architects on festival design layout and map following state and local building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances, such as those requiring reasonable access for people with disabilities (ADA).
- Collaborate with other departments on logistics for production resources. Ensures that project design meets the needs of each department. Work with Festival Architects to streamline design to meet everyone's collective needs.
- Work closely with the Festival Production Manager to ensure design plans are accurately 'marked out' on site as well as with vendors to ascertain marks for placing assets such as tents, trailers, generators, stages, etc.
- Collaborate with Civil and Structural Engineers to review structural blueprints, calculations and construction documents for stage structures and other show builds.
- Ensure a thorough site analysis and knowledge of all buildings within the festival venue by drafting plans of underground utilities such as electrical, communications and plumbing systems as well as landscape plans for large outdoor spaces.
- Design structures for vendor installations at the events and supervise their construction on-site. Instruct Production team and vendors where to set up structures and production elements according to blueprints, architectural plans, and technical specifications.
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Vectorworks, CAD and other BIM and 3D modeling software.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple design change requests that come from all festival departments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be able to travel to festival locations and spend long periods of time on site and in various weather elements
- Must be able to work varying schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) Advanced degree in architecture, engineering, design or other related fields preferred
- 4-6 years
- Experience attending and/or working in live events or festivals preferred

Pay Scale: $25.00
