Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing timelines are met.

Position Duties:

1. Reviews daily requirements for the department to plan work and personnel assignments for the shift. Sets productivity expectations and tracks to ensure they are met.

2. Supervises, coordinates, schedules, inspects and approves the work of subordinates and/or client trainees. Ensures that all assigned personnel are properly trained.

3. Assist with and/or set up workstations for production operations, including raw materials, fixtures, inspections and process sheets. Performs first piece inspection as required.

4. Monitors the raw material, work in progress, and finished goods inventory to help ensure it is adequate to meet customer requirements. Anticipates and determines cause of any delay in shift operations and takes appropriate action to meet shipping schedule.

5. Follows TS-16949 quality procedures to build defect free product.

6. Responsible for assisting Automotive Operations with Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and ensure reports complete their assigned LPA as specified by TS-16949.

7. Follow quality system procedures necessary for Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit to Maintain

TS-16949 and ISO-14001 Certification.

8. Ensures that all personnel are trained prior to job assignment and that established process control procedures are adhered to and maintained.

9. Uses product identification and tractability systems.

10. Make certain that all machinery and equipment are functioning properly. Ensures that production tools, jugs, fixtures and other equipment used in the manufacturing process are repaired and are on a regularly scheduled maintenance.

11. Assists in the design of production operations to achieve maximum productivity.

12. Maintains cleanliness and order of assigned work center(s).

13. Assist individuals who have disabilities or other work barriers in training and production tasks to ensure efficiency while maintaining quality product.

14. Conducts performance appraisals for all assigned personnel.

15. Coordinates assignments with other staff to provide necessary organizational coverage.

16. Assists with development of Automotive Operations annual budget.

17. Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical conduct as stated in the employee manual.

18. Performs all duties to the standards established by the organization, its customers, funding sources, and other regulatory bodies.

19. Performs other duties as required.


EXPERIENCE:

1. Five (5) years supervisory experience. Five (5) years
automotive or similar hard line experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

1. Ability to read and write procedures and instructions.
2. Ability to analyze and compile data.
3. Ability to schedule, train, supervise and inspect the activities
and output of other employees.
4. Ability to work with individuals who have disabilities or other
work barriers.
5. General knowledge of manufacturing operations including
process flow, inventory concepts, productivity, quality and
scheduling.
6. Has an understanding of Lean Management and synchronization
preferred.
7. Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
8. Knowledge of EDI, ASN, eSupplierConnect (FCA) and other
OEM specific portals preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
2. Ability to work long and/or irregular hours and weekends.
3. Vision abilities requiring clear close vision, distance vision,
depth perception, and the ability to distinguish between colors.
4. Ability to train and demonstrate work processes.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to problem solve, prioritize and work well under
pressure. Must be able to manage multiple tasks.
MACHINES/EQUIPMENT: Must be able to operate production machinery and equipment.
Computer knowledge with intermediate or higher competency in
Word, Excel, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and
email.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Standard automotive environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Self starter and employee motivator to successfully complete the
