The Railcar Supervisor will oversee the mechanical teams throughout day-to-day operations as well as contributes to the long-term operational plan, including (but not limited to) training and onboarding the new employees, scheduling and assigning work duties, overcoming operational obstacles, and managing production and employee performance to ensure that the plant’s safety, quality, and production goals are achieved.

What You'll Do:

• Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counseling, and leading employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
• Conduct training; implementing & leading all aspects of systems, policies, and procedures
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and implementing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations
• Complete operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring work; collecting resources; implementing standards; resolving operations problems; maintaining reference manuals; implementing new procedures
• Control expenses, participates in submitting cost savings ideas, budget information; monitors expenditures; monitoring variances; implementing corrective actions
• Provide quality service by implementing quality, customer service standards, participates in submitting quality improvements
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending informative workshops; reviewing procedures, specifications, MI’s and Field manuals
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Accomplishes department objectives by coordinating and monitoring work process
• Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that follow company’s plans and vision
• Prioritize workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
• Monitor employee efficiency and providing constructive feedback and coaching
• Input data in KRONOS, TRACS, MS OFFICE and EXCEL and Development skills in additional Computer programs

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma; BS/BA in management or equivalent field preferred
• Experience as a supervisor or equivalent role
• Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field
• Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
