DIS-TRAN Steel, a Crest Industries company, is looking to hire a Production Support Technician to work at the Pineville facility. A Production Support Technician, as part of a team, must be able to work safely and produce high quality work in an industrial manufacturing environment. This position must be able to perform duties with speed and accuracy in order to produce quality product and keep a steady flow of product. This position is expected to be able to read a tape measure, perform basic calculations, operate material handling equipment and other power tools to assist in the fabrication process.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION SUPPORT TECHNICIAN:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a continual basis
• Read and understand measuring devices such as tape measure, rules, and combination squares
• Perform simple shop math (add/subtract fractions, decimals, and whole numbers)
• Experience using simple hand tools such as wrenches, hammer, screw driver etc.
• Basic computer skills

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED):

• Experience working in a Plant or Manufacturing environment
• Fabrication experience
• Experience operating material handling equipment (forklift, overhead crane)
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules
• Ability to safely set up and operate power tools
