Overview:
CFR’s David Rockefeller Studies Program is one of the country’s largest foreign policy think tanks with a widely respected and influential research staff. The Director of Studies office manages and administers staffing, budgeting, fundraising, and developing and implementing departmental procedures. The program associate will be part of a dynamic team, working under the direction of the managing director of studies administration and director for studies administration to help support the wide range of department activities.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to)::
  • Assisting with grant administration and reporting, specifically reviewing and editing grant reports to funders, tracking grant reporting deadlines, and preparing acknowledgment letters.
  • Providing operational support within the Director of Studies office and assistance to the larger Studies Program as needed, including assisting with one-off meetings, ad-hoc research, and special projects.
  • Tracking metrics and updating weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Assisting in the development and updates to program and expert pages for Studies projects on CFR.org
  • Assisting in the planning of Studies and Council wide professional development events.
  • Assists with drafting, editing, proofreading, and tracking written material, including memos, department documents, and institutional requests.
  • Performing administrative duties for departmental functions, as needed.
  • Acting as departmental liaison for special projects, as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field with high academic credentials.
  • One year of related experience, preferably with administrative experience.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, as well as ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding professional judgment and demeanor.
  • Excellent computer and database management skills.
Pay Range
$49,000 to $54,000 per year
Pay commensurate with experience and education
