Job Description:

The Fluent Design team is looking for a Design Producer/Program Manager whose passion lies in the space between design and technology, with a focus on tools that enable our design teams to shine.

Key Areas of Management:

  • Team Management:
    • Partner closely with our design, UX engineering and research leads to drive our operational strategy and raise the bar of our practice, with a focus on our partner product team needs. This includes building and overseeing our roadmap and supporting organizational development efforts.
  • Program Management:
    • Work closely with partner teams including PMs, designers, engineers and researchers to create and refine briefs, facilitate reviews, oversee team communications, and continually explore ways to improve the design system, enabling our admin portals to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Production Management:
    • Drive efficiencies in the design and engineering process, enabling our team to stay focused on delivering high quality work on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the team’s workstreams while working cross-functionally with our partner teams to ensure timely milestones are met
  • Help schedule and facilitate meetings and reviews to maximize the team’s time and effectiveness and ensure action items are captured and communicated
  • Define and drive team rhythm of business and operations
  • Manage team pipeline including work items, scope, requirements, and timelines, while negotiating capacity and priorities, and providing visibility to all partner teams
  • Partner with research to define and track metrics of success, with a focus on customer-centric design
  • Keep a pulse on team health and morale; generate positive and optimistic energy
  • Forecast resourcing needs and lead conversations with leadership on resource planning

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in product and/or interaction design in a Producer, PM or Design PM role
  • A minimum of BA/BS in Computer Science, User Interface Design, Graphic Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Business, Project Management, or a related field, OR significant industry experience

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of design, engineering, research and pixel-perfect execution
  • Committed, confident and optimistic collaborator
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Experience managing simultaneous projects and coordinating the efforts across multiple teams
  • Customer-centric mindset with experience turning research outcomes and metrics into product success stories
  • Easily identifies opportunities within ambiguity as well as within constraints

Preferred:

  • Familiarity and working knowledge of our current management and design tools (Azure DevOps and Figma)
  • Willingness to question established thinking in pursuit of better outcomes

Requirements:

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50.62 - $56.24/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match (if applicable).
