Position title: Solidarity Squad Program Manager

Pay Grade: Hourly $23–$28 an hour

SUMMARY: The Solidarity Squad Program Manager reports to the Director of Programs and is responsible for coordinating Brown Hope’s Solidarity Squad Program.
Responsibilities include community outreach, volunteer management, data management, in-kind donation solicitation, and immediate needs assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Solidarity Squad Program:
- Analyze Black Resilience Fund applicant data to assess and prioritize requests for Solidarity Squad assistance.
- Manage operations and partnerships for food box distribution
- Train and oversee Solidarity Squad volunteers, maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.
- Support existing and forge new collaborations with community-based nonprofit organizations, city and state agencies, community businesses, and other partners.
- Track program data, including the distribution of food boxes and in-kind donations
- Coordinate and host quarterly product drives for the free store.
- Create and implement outreach strategies to raise awareness about and garner further support for the Solidarity Squad program
- Work with the Solidarity Squad volunteer team to identify areas where support is needed and funding can address specific challenges.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Programs, COO, or CEO.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two or more years of nonprofit programming experience
- Volunteer coordination experience
- Understanding of Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities, including historical and contemporary
- A flexible problem solver, good at striking a balance between innovation and continuity, deliberation and action, independence and collaboration
- Ability to work independently and with minimal direction, showing initiative, creativity, self-discipline, adequate time, and project management skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care models.
- Be a culturally competent leader: eager to learn, a champion for diversity, a good listener, and capable of working well with people from different backgrounds and identities.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including excellent oral, written and listening communication.
- Integrity, credibility, and passion for supporting the communities Brown
- Hope serves
- Familiarity with Solidarity Squad models and local resources
- Comfortable working with distributed teams and online collaboration tools (Slack, G Suite, Zoom)
- Cooperative and collaborative team member. Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with all clients, donors, Brown Hope staff, stakeholders, community members, public officials, and other business partners.
- Ability to create, monitor, and adhere to a fiscally responsible budget.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is usually performed with a flexible remote policy, with an expectation of working within Brown Hope’s office once a week and when assigned by organizational leadership. Work is oriented to community service and subject to constant work interruptions. The position requires the employee to facilitate meetings and deliver presentations to community members regularly and other business partners in both small and large groups. Employees may work under the stress of continual contact with clients, community members, co-workers, and business partners and the pressure to meet deadlines. Requires flexible work schedule and may be required to work evenings and weekends. Must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. The position may require the ability to travel regionally for work activities.
