Built-in 1973 Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento is committed to providing daily excellence in health care for residents of Sacramento’s southern suburbs including the Elk Grove Wilton and Galt communities. Methodist Hospital is home to a 158 acute-care bed facility with 1120 employees 283 medical staff and 29 Emergency Department beds. Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace – a 171-bed sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly as well as those requiring extended recoveries. Methodist Hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program an accredited and nationally recognized program which provides resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Together the hospital and residency program implemented a ground-breaking curriculum addressing the identification treatment and assistance of human trafficking victims and created a one-of-a-kind health clinic for victims the Human Trafficking Medical Home.
Responsibilities
The Medical Safe Haven (MSH) Program Specialist will function as a qualified MSH team member who will engage with Methodist, Family Medicine Residency program, and additional replicated MSH Residency sites, to support the ongoing resident curriculum needs, including community resource and survivor leader connections and disseminating best practices in providing trauma-informed care for MSH patients. This includes sharing knowledge about Dignity Health’s policies and procedures for responding to victims of human trafficking, intake standards, resources for continuum support and grant related reporting requirements. This will include, as needed, supporting residency programs, DOJ replicated sites within Dignity Health, in alignment with replication efforts for utilizing the MSH model of care and associated developed best practices: The MSH Program Manual, and the MSH Readiness Assessment Tool. This position will provide functional MSH support to both the MSH Director and MSH Medical Director, and support for all MSH support staff. The MSH program specialist’s role is aligned with initiatives from specialized grant program deliverables. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of the MSH clinic model, and at least two years of experience working in the field of victim services and working a professional environment with community collaborative(s).

Qualifications
Job Specifications:
Work Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of program support and or care management.
- Minimum of 2 years or equivalent experience in a social service agency or community clinic
- Effective communication skills, especially with victims and survivors, multidisciplinary agencies and medical staff.
Education
- Masters preferred, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work or other related field of study that demonstrates a knowledge of vulnerable and at-risk patient populations, or 4+ plus years’ experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk patient populations.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Assist with grant related technical assistance
- Identify MSH site challenges and technical assistance needs as applicable
- Perform Readiness Assessments for strategic MSH replication
- Understand MSH organizational processes, including cross functional team synergy and support
- Excellent public interfacing and presentation skills are a must
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are essential
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks or projects effectively
- Ability to work independently as needed with a high degree of detail orientation
- Capable of planning and organizing projects with short notice
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Knowledge of various forms of violence, including human trafficking
- Knowledge of, and ideally, relationships established with, community resources that provide support services to survivors of violence, including human trafficking
