JOB DESCRIPTION

The WJP Program Supervisor in collaboration with the Director is responsible for the management, coordination and supervision of WJP program. This includes coordinating staff work activities and client services; orientation, training, and supervision of Resident Managers and other staff with programmatic responsibilities, implementation of program policies, procedures. The position will require occasional evening and weekend work hours and travel to various Brooklyn sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise Resident Manager Supervisor, Creative Arts Therapist and Peer Navigator to include completing probationary and annual evaluations; timecard approval and PTO;
  • Supervise Creative Arts therapist and ensure compliance with weekly individual and group sessions;
  • Ensure Creative Arts Therapist completes monthly activity and group sessions Oversee Peer Navigator performance as it relates to her facilitation of the Our Journey group;
  • Ensure Peer Navigator escorts clients to appointments as required;
  • Ensure Peer Navigator submits monthly calendar for all recreational, holiday, birthdays and workshop activities;
  • Review Peer Navigator caseload to ensure all clients have the appropriate entitlements;
  • Ensure compliance with MOCJ, SHERO and OTDA regulations and procedures at the site;
  • Ensure/Facilitate orientation and on-site job training for supervisees;
  • Assist Director in submitting reports and responses to SHERO, MOCJ, and other oversight agencies inspections;
  • Ensure all supervisees are trained as per position requirements;
  • Provides Crisis management in conjunction with Director and Social Workers;
  • Collaborate with staff to coordinate Life Skills Trainings and Social functions for residents;
  • Communicate with maintenance staff on outstanding repair needs throughout the building;
  • Works closely with the Resident Manager Supervisor to ensure that her team communicate to the social workers in a timely manner on all resident concerns, to include follow through on noncompliance issues, and all matters that might impact the residents’ completion of identified goals;
  • Approve the ordering of supplies and food to ensure inventory is accurate and current;.
  • Approve petty cash and metro reimbursements for both sites;
  • Attend Monthly case conferences and red flag meetings for all clients;
  • Communicate to staff all new intakes and discharges;
  • Attend Justice training and conferences as directed by Program Director;
  • Meet with Program Director for regular supervision;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Team/Staff Relations

  • Work as a Providence House team member with all staff and volunteers in order to implement the mission and core values of the agency.
  • Attend internal and external agency meetings.
  • Work as part of team to plan and develop residents’ programs.

Administrative

  • Ensures that staff adhere to WJP/SHERO and MOCJ regulations and documents appropriately.
  • Ensure that site binders are in compliance with oversight agency expectations
  • Assist with audits and corrective action plans.
  • Assists Director with any and all data collection systems.

Sanctuary Model:

  • Effectively use and practice Sanctuary Models tools; safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, red flags reviews, and self-care in the program to create a non-violent and trauma sensitive culture.
  • Promote and model the core values of Providence House Mission (Compassion, Non-Violence, Hospitality, and Community) and the Seven Sanctuary Model Commitments to create a non-violent and trauma sensitive culture.
  • Integrate the Sanctuary Model SELF (Safety, Emotional Management, Loss and Future) framework into daily practice to ensure quality care and an effective work environment.·

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree, Social Work or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years in program supervision and administration.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate staff work activities.
  • Compatible philosophy with the Providence House mission and Sanctuary model of trauma informed care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Competent technology management skills, including proficiency with using Microsoft Office; client database management.

WORK SCHEDULE

The Program Supervisor position is a full time, salaried position. Work hours are Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm with an occasional evening. Location for this position is in Brooklyn, New York. Requires travel between Women’s Justice Program sites.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Salary is $60K Annually. Benefits include 12 paid holidays, 3 weeks paid vacation, 3 paid personal days, 12 paid sick days.
