ZTEX Construction, LLC., locally owned and operated in El Paso, Tx. is a heavy civil contractor specializing in earthwork, asphalt paving and overall project management. We are actively seeking a Project Engineer that meets our requirements.

Job Summary

Project Engineer follows duties and responsibilities as assigned by Project Manager(s). These may include items related to assisting in managing, planning and coordinating technical engineering initiative to make sure the project is within their budget and according to a schedule. Ensure projects uphold standards, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specifications for elements of a project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Engineer will assist with tasks and duties as requested by Project Manager and/or Operations Manager.

· Assisting project manager on a daily basis

· Preparing and managing purchase orders and subcontractor agreements.

· Assist with scanning and filing receipts, tickets, etc.

· Assist with review and process of time sheets from field employees.

· Photopgraph and document work areas as needed.

· Use of construction management software to track and report cost related to construction project.

· Deliver documentation, paperwork, payments to different locations around El Paso.

· Perform Takeoffs and quantifications of plans as needed.

· Coordinate orders and deliveries of materials with different vendors.

Requirements and Education

· A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

· Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software

· Ability to work with multiple discipline projects

· Excellent organizational, time management, leadership and decision-making skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Knowledge of applicable codes, policies standards and best practices

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

· Must be able to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time

· Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs.

· Must be work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements, heat/cold temperatures, wind, rain, blowing dust

· Able to work around moving equipment and tolerate loud noise levels

· Able to walk on uneven surfaces

· Must be able to work overtime, weekends or holidays

· Must be bi-lingual English/Spanish
