The Akvelon team is looking for a Project Manager for Microsoft Modern Work Finance team with really good excel skills that can work cross functionally, take notes during meetings, and function independently. The key scope of the work includes the Data Governance workstream.

Skills needed:

• Ability to learn tools, systems, processes, and data hierarchies quickly;

• Preferable already familiar with MS Sales, MS revenue hierarchies, revenue allocations and bundle setup at MS, understanding of PFAM and SKU-level setup and how those roll up to MS revenue reporting hierarchies and impact reporting used by our finance team;

• Extremely detail oriented and structured/analytical thinker; critical thinking and problem solving skills so that they can:

• Glean knowledge of product functionality and typical launch scenarios and take a first stab at applying known concepts and current setups to new launch scenarios;

• If something in our reporting is broken, think through possible reasons and how to solve;

• Apply that knowledge to create and improve existing controls and processes to proactively prevent reporting issues.

Business partnering:

• Be trusted to work somewhat independently with stakeholder teams (our broader finance team, Business Planning, Operations, Corp Accounting, MS Sales);

• Also preferable if they have some basic knowledge of Mercury and cost hierarchies at MS (but less important);

• Good at creating/improving processes and documenting them in a way that others can easily take over later and structuring how you work for easy ongoing collaboration with others (especially me, who will be in the weeds with them from time to time).

Responsibilities:

• Partner with business planning, Ops, and Corp Accounting to guide them through how to operationalize a product launch in our financial systems (PFAM creation, mapping PFAMs to SKUs created by Ops when setting up product bundles and revenue allocations);

• Help manage financial hierarchies (mainly revenue ones in MS Sales; maybe some minor work on the cost hierarchies in Mercury);

• Help with ad hoc data/reporting needs and ongoing controls/process improvement in data management and governance;

• Good fits are Project Managers who have worked with MS in the past – Pm’s worked with MS 365 team have good excel skills.
