Summary

Establish, formalize and sustain Lean Management and Six Sigma philosophy and tool set(s). The lean Six Sigma Manager will be responsible for defining, maintaining and tracking continuous improvement and lean manufacturing strategies/ initiatives across KEO. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)

· Drive the Lean Culture throughout the organization.

· Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all facility safety and environmental policies. Support safety culture by developing and maintaining policies and procedures.

· Lead and coach teams to identify wastes and develop solutions using continuous improvement tools

· Follow formal problem-solving models and implement solutions while tracking and communicating results.

· Responsible for collaborating with all levels of the organization.

· Through plant exposure, become familiar with the segments and operating units of KEO Cutting Tools including current business models and customers.

· Integrate Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing tools to consistently improve process yields, reduce waste, and drive, maintain and leverage relationships across the organization to identify opportunities for process improvement. Facilitate the implementation and continuously monitor processes, and stay up to date on developments in process improvement methodologies and best practices.

· Implement solutions across the organization to identify and eliminate waste, organize around Lean processes and deliver excellence on safety, environmental responsibility, quality, productivity and cost.

· Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

· Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

· Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.

· Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.

· Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Qualification and Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University, preferably in a technical or manufacturing discipline.

· Strong and working knowledge of manufacturing plant operations, and quality management systems, including applicable standards within cutting tool industries.

· Two years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Must be goal oriented, data driven, with a strong sense of urgency.

· Experience with Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing and Engineering

· Experience in leading, directing and coordinating capital projects.

· Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans.

Language Skills

 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Reasoning Ability

 Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

 Proficiency with Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. Familiar with ERP systems and database analytics.
