Overview: The position of project engineer / manager at NESTEC is extremely important and directly affects the success of our company. It is expected that the project manager will take ownership of the schedule, project invoicing, equipment design and accuracy, operation, performance, purchasing of supplies, fabrication, and outside contractors, leading to the overall success of the project. The project manager should advise NESTEC management of concerns, progress, and important developments on a timely basis. The project engineer / manager will be the primary point of customer contact. As such, it is expected that they create and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project duration; to clearly define scope and procure change orders as required. To manage additional resources on a timely basis, working within the project schedule and budget. A detailed understanding of the project, including performance, customer and proposal specifications, schedule, and budget is required.

Responsibilities: The NESTEC project engineer/Manager (PM) has the overall responsibility for the project from the start of the turnover documents from the pre-contract team to project completion, including the following:

  • Lead participation in the Kick-Off Meeting, as determined by the pre-contract team (Salesperson of record, Sales Manager, Applications Engineer and Applications Manager), and Submittal of Milestone invoice, with purchase order, where applicable (Accounting to send, upon advice from PM).
  • Generation of Submittal Package, including; Process Flow Diagrams (by the PM or Process Engineer), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (by the PM or Process Engineer), Bill of Materials (by the PM or Mechanical Engineer), General Assembly Drawings (by Mechanical Designers) with overall equipment sizes and past project references (defined by PM or Process Engineer), Foundation Loading Diagram (by Structural Engineer), Electrical Schematics (by Electrical Engineers), Submittal Data Sheets with General Information, Submittal Status, Specific Design / Manufacturing Information (by the PM or Mechanical Engineer), and Submittal of Milestone Invoice, upon submittal, where applicable.
  • Review of Submittal Package with customer and manage scope changes (commercial and schedule) where applicable. Reach “approval or approved as noted” status.
  • Submittal of Milestone Invoice, upon release for fabrication, where applicable. (Accounting to send, upon advice from PM).
  • Continual Project Management and Oversight.
  • Issue vendor purchase orders (by PM, Mechanical or Control Engineer).
  • Review of Fabrication Drawing for compliance with proposal and specifications for overall size, material of construction, structural design, etc.
  • Maintenance and review of NEST App and cost sheets (temp).
  • Review and approve vendor submittals and drawings; such as, Main Fan Drawings, Expansion Joints, Dampers, Schedule and review of mechanical fabrication drawings.
  • Schedule and review of control package, including logic (functional descriptions) & HMI screens.
  • Overall Schedule and Resource planning and management.
  • Document Control, maintaining latest list of drawings revisions and release for fabrication. Fabrication quality control and inspections.
  • Inventory management (Fabricator, Warehouse, Site, etc.)
  • Installation Specifications & Drawings, including specific lift plans.
  • Generate Nameplate Drawing.
  • Submittal of Milestone Invoice, prior to or upon shipment, where applicable. (Accounting to send, upon advice from PM).
  • Equipment Installation

  • Construction Mobilization
  • Mechanical Installation
  • Electrical Installation
  • Startup & Commissioning
  • Generate Pre-commissioning check list to Keep and Maintain; Startup Reports, Performance testing and reports, and Site Photos.
  • Project Closeout, including punch list management, up to date invoicing, and “lessoned learned” are documented in the NEST App.
  • Generate (or update) Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Electrical Schematics to “As Built” status. (by PM, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineer)
  • Up to date Spare Parts List.
  • Submittal of OEM manuals.
  • Set and manage meetings as necessary (frequency/documentation/notes) to achieve project goals (schedule, budget, quality).
  • It is expected that the project manager will travel to the fabricator(s) and customer site as needed to achieve project goals (schedule, budget, quality).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $82,750.00 - $115,000.00 per year
