Job Title: Project Quality Manager

Location: Fort Rucker- AL

Reports to: Program Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Plan, direct, or coordinate quality assurance programs. Formulate quality control policies and control quality of laboratory and production efforts. Responsible to conduct daily in-processing inspections, performs ISO audits, and maintains documentation in assisting program/section supervisors by defining areas needing improvement under the Quality Control compliance program. The QA Manager will recommend improvements through our preventative actions and corrective actions system. He will further use the prioritization of reliability problems and reliable risks, procurement process and spare parts management, basic corrosion identification, remediation (storage), validation of maintenance procedures, coaching of operations and maintenance and Supply procedures to improve overall product reliability for man-hours and cost. Manager will maintain records on performance trends and analysis on problems with recommended possible solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Collect and analyze production samples to evaluate quality.

· Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.

· Stop production if serious product defects are present.

· Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.

· Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments and personnel.

· Instruct staff in quality control and analytical procedures.

· Produce reports; product / process nonconformance, production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends.

· Participate in the development of product specifications.

· Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends.

· Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these points.

· Create and implement inspection and testing criteria or procedures.

· Oversee workers including supervisors, inspectors, or laboratory workers engaged in testing activities.

· Document testing procedures, methodologies, or criteria.

· Review and update standard operating procedures or quality assurance manuals.

· Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutions.

· Verify materials, parts / components, in-process samples, products meet established inspection standards.

· Review quality documentation necessary for regulatory submissions and inspections.

· Generate and maintain quality control operating budgets.

· Direct the tracking of defects, test results, or other regularly reported quality control data.

· Evaluate new testing and sampling methodologies or technologies to determine usefulness.

· Direct product testing activities throughout production cycles.

· Instruct vendors or contractors on quality guidelines, testing procedures, or ways to eliminate deficiencies.

· Coordinate the selection and implementation of quality control equipment such as inspection gauges.

· Monitor development of new products to help identify possible problems for mass production.

· Confer with marketing and sales departments to define client requirements and expectations.

TASK EVALUATION.

· Has ample team of subordinate exempt and non-exempt inspectors in all relevant work centers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITY

· Administration and Management. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

· Chemistry. Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

· Clerical. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

· English Language. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

· Customer and Personal Service. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

· Reading Comprehension. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

· Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

· Quality Control Analysis. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

· Active Listening. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

· Monitoring. Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

· Problem Sensitivity. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

· Oral Expression. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

· Written Comprehension. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

· Oral Comprehension. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
