Job description
Proposal managers work collectively with the proposal department team lead, market leaders, program managers/program directors and others to manage the process of creating cohesive proposals. The proposal manager is responsible for leading the proposal process to include the creation, organization, development, and production of proposals and other formally requested customer and/or market-initiated information to professionally position Woolpert. The Proposal Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient development of corporate proposals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Marketing, or a related field required
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience in the A/E/C industry
- Experience working on project deliverables (editing/formatting project documents) a plus
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint and Teams, as well as Adobe InDesign required
- Certification and/or involvement in the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) or Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) a plus
- Experience in a role requiring the ability to develop and produce proposal materials
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to write and edit using established style guides, including AP style
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background, verification, and drug screening.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Development of proposals for Woolpert across multiple markets.
- Lead proposal development activities through analyzing RFP content and amendments, developing proposal schedule, writing assignments, and coordinating data calls of teaming partners.
- Developing effective win strategies, themes and discriminators with market or client needs.
- Familiarity with capture planning concepts, tools, processes.
- Completing and/or approving Outlines/Storyboards/Compliance Matrices.
- Contributing to technical solution/content development.
- Development of tool kit proposal information, including master resume and project descriptions
- Managing iterative proposal reviews (color reviews) and incorporating feedback
- Coordinating and/or approving technical writing assignments with subject matter leadership team.
- Providing initial rough draft review from writers to make sure RFP requirements and selection criteria are addressed.
- Follow established quality assurance/quality process.
- Coordinate with marketing manager and client services for service line proposal/interview/presentation support and market initiatives.
- Work as liaison with service lines and proposal coordinators to create boilerplate proposal documents. Understanding and adapting to each service line’s unique proposal requirements while maintaining overall company standards.
- Act as a mentor to proposal coordinators/technical writers for proposal preparation assistance.
