General Summary
    The Epic Principal Trainer (PT) leads the Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation training program. The PT will design Innovative curriculum, including virtual and eLearning, and help develop a structured on-the-job training program as a continuation of the Epic training process. Ability to direct others without having line management authority. Using strong collaboration, coaching, project management and organization skills are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and manages Epic training environment builds and maintenance, implementation of any change requests made to existing applications as well as educating end-users on changes, review release notes and prepare for and implement planned upgrades.
  • Supervises, mentors, and coaches assigned Credentialed Trainers; manages training schedules and work assignments.
  • Consults and develops relationships with managers and users to identify performance gaps and develops appropriate learning interventions and solutions to meet business and user needs using best practices and instructional design principles.
  • Understands and interprets clinical and non-clinical workflows, processes, and terminology to translate information into educationally sound training content.
  • Classroom and virtual training delivery to end users; preparation of lesson plans, including methods, materials, and documentation to be presented in class, knowledge management, and development of eLearning
  • Creates and validates training tools which support the ongoing education of system users, and measures user competency as well as effectiveness of the training program.
  • Supports continuous improvement by developing and transferring Epic application expertise to teammates, encourage team cooperation to successfully carry out team initiatives.
  • End user support in person and via phone along with ticket resolution, act as a subject matter expert in the technical/functional area of the content.
  • Follows established program and departmental policies, procedures, and technical standards; and related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
    Education
      Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Computer Science, or related field preferred

    Work Experience
      3-5 years Epic Analyst or Principal Trainer experience preferred

    Certification/License
      Epic certification in Orders, ASAP, Willow, Cupid, Radiant, Beacon, PB, HB, Cadence, Grand Central, and or OpTime preferred. Clinical licensure or experience in an applicable area of healthcare preferred.
Mental/Physical Requirements
    Must be able to stand, and walk for extended periods of time while doing displays, helping customers, operating cash register. Must be able to reach overhead storage shelves and bend or stoop to reach items stored under counters. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
