Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured 115-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males ages 10-17 years old. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns in order to improve their actions/behavior. Our diverse team works together to facilitate the changes that become an investment in the future of each young man's life and his family's life. We are located in the beautiful hills of Tennessee between two magnificent rivers, just 15 miles south of Waverly, Tennessee. Our spacious grounds occupy over 120 acres and include athletic fields, and alpine tower.

Natchez Trace Youth Academy is seeking dynamic and talented Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Who will work in collaboration with the Medical Director and facility nursing staff to provide a variety of services to both patients/residents and employees of the facility. This position will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with mental health and emotional disorders, providing individual and group therapy, and prescribing medication when necessary.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain detail records of patient visits and progress
- Assist in development of individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with resident doctor and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient continuity of care
- Eduate patients and families about mental health and emotional disorders
- Participate in case reviews and conributes to treatment planning and goal setting
- Communicate with health care providers outside of the agency as needed to ensure medication continuity and client care planning
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team and provider guidance through the Admissions process for determination of placement and optimal care of patients
- Ensure compliance to all UHS policies, regulatory agency standards and CARF accreditation requirements. Ensures preparedness and participates in all regulatory audits
- Must process the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office Suite

Requirements:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with specialty in Psychiatric Nursing
- At lease 1-2 years providing direct client care to persons receiving treatment for psychatric disorders
- Experiences in telemedicine
- Must be certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- An unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of TN
- Must have a valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in TN
- State-issued Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) in TN
