Job description
Psychometricians administer and score neuropsychological and psychological test batteries under the guidance of a clinical neuropsychologist or a clinical psychologist. They assist psychologists by identifying the appropriate tests to administer, interpreting test results, and documenting processes. Additionally, they may help patients understand their results. In the psychometrician role, you will ensure the accurate assessment of neuropsychological and psychological test scores as well as provide detailed behavioral observations to aid in the interpretation of psychological tests. Success in this role will be demonstrated by your ability to assist clinical psychologists and clinical neuropsychologists make appropriate psychological assessments of each examinee. The psychometrician works in the clinical setting with patients who are being seen for treatment purposes or forensic purposes.
Responsibilities
• Master’s degree in Psychology • Ability to obtain a “supervised psychologist” license under neuropsychologist (aka “Gold Card”) • Certification from the Board of Certified Psychometrists is preferred. • 1 year of work experience in a mental health institution or similar environment is preferred. • Excellent observation and communication skills • Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
