Position Summary

The PR Associate is an entry level position on 829’s Public Relations team. In this role, you will assist in creating, planning, and executing public relations strategies for our growing portfolio of clients. You will be a key team member in building and managing campaigns and content for a variety of clients. There will be collaboration with internal stakeholders including the growth marketing, branding and communications, branding and marketing content creative, design, campaign and marketing technology teams. You should have previous internships or entry level PR experience.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft media materials & social media content including pitches, press releases, press kits, fact sheets, infographics, bios, blogs, newsletters, case studies, award submissions, official statements, letters from leadership, social ads, branded content, Q&A’s, etc.
  • Responsible for assisting PR + social media management on multiple accounts (Brand Industry: Retail, Travel, Tourism, and Consumer Goods).
  • Excellent critical thinking, editing and presentation skills.
  • Research, develop and maintain media list, media sourcing services and editorial calendar.
  • Assist with pitching top tier short/long-lead print, online, virtual and broadcast media outlets and secure national and localized impact stories as well as consistent interview opportunities.
  • Manage reporting, including the collection and tracking of results.
  • Keep up to date on industry and media trends, editorial calendars, themes, deadlines to create opportunities for clients.
  • Daily media monitoring and reporting of coverage that affects agency and client business.
  • Produce and organize client events - venue, F+B, invites, guest list management.
  • Manage and produce media coverage or activations at client events and conferences.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Internship or entry level PR experience for in-house, agency or start-up environment
  • Understanding of product launches, brand storytelling, media and influencer-relations strategies
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong writing and editorial skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in influencer marketing experience
  • Experience in B2C and B2B marketing
  • Understanding of digital/new media marketing strategies
  • Experience working with digital marketing and advertising agencies a plus
  • Experience securing national/regional/local coverage and managing social media for multiple brands a plus
  • Degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, or Business (not required, but preferred)
