Job description
- Uses a computer-aided dispatch system.
- Dispatch maintenance and other university personnel to incidents that require immediate action to ensure the safety and security of the campus.
- Closely monitor emergency and life-safety systems and alarms, such as fire detection, intrusion detection, access control, and security cameras.
- Maintains contact with all units on assignment, maintain status and location of police.
- Answers non-emergency calls for assistance.
- Enter, update and retrieve information from a variety of computer systems.
- Receive requests for information regarding vehicle registration, driving records and warrants, and provides pertinent data.
- Monitor several complex public safety radio frequencies.
- Operate a variety of communications equipment, including radio consoles, telephones and computer systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED
