Ionis is seeking a Publications Manager to join our medical affairs organization to foster collaboration in the review and approval of all Ionis and partner generated publications and presentations. The successful candidate will effectively oversee and coordinate the Ionis process for review and approval of non-promotional publication materials and completion of the review and approval workflow process in accordance with Ionis procedures. Further, the ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying process improvement opportunities, tracking organizational performance, and providing recommendations for system enhancements.
Publications Manager (Contract)
Ionis is seeking a Publications Manager to join our medical affairs organization to foster collaboration in the review and approval of all Ionis and partner generated publications and presentations. The successful candidate will effectively oversee and coordinate the Ionis process for review and approval of non-promotional publication materials and completion of the review and approval workflow process in accordance with Ionis procedures. Further, the ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying process improvement opportunities, tracking organizational performance, and providing recommendations for system enhancements.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the timely review and approval of Ionis’ scientific and medical presentations and publications (non-promotional)
- Interface with internal Ionis functions to ensure final materials are cataloged appropriately, required information is entered accurately, and records are searchable by the organization
- Collaborate the Information Technology (IT) team by triaging and addressing technical issues that may arise with the publication approval platform, including system testing and updates
- Support Ionis’ publication database maintenance
Qualifications:
- 2 years of related experience in the pharmaceutical/health care industry, academia, or medical communication agency required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field required
- Proven judgement in resolving issues or in making recommendations
- Track record of coordinating processes independent of direct supervision for daily work; able to effectively assume new responsibilities based on general instructions
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate tasks without authority to ensure the process is completed timely
- Knowledge and experience in use of Microsoft 365 Share Point and Power BI preferred.
- Relevant professional certification/credential (e.g., CMPP, AMWA) is a plus
