A leading music streaming company is looking for a Publicity Coordinator. The successful candidate will play a critical role in keeping the consumer communications team organized and agile, supporting the leading audio entertainment company in North America in telling its story. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a public relations agency or media-related company.

Publicity Coordinator Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $45/hr
  • Worksite: Leading streaming company (New York, NY 10020)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
  • 40 hours/week, 6 Month Assignment

Publicity Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Support publicity efforts to promote our Talk, Music and Entertainment, and Sports programming initiatives, inclusive of channels, tentpole shows, events, and more.
  • Draft and design different types of publicity materials (e.g., pitches, media alerts, press releases, and more).
  • Gather and edit show/channel press materials (e.g., programmer bios, show, and channel descriptions)
  • Select audio clips for distribution and collaborate with programming to clear clips for use.
  • Create project-specific media lists to support the PR team.
  • Maintain contact databases and media lists.
  • Track and distribute weekly press clips for senior executives and compile department quarterly reporting.
  • Oversee news release distribution process, including proofing of final copy, confirmation of distribution channel and timing, and ongoing vendor coordination.
  • Support event planning and execution for subscriber events, including our Small Stage Series.
  • Take part in brainstorming and suggesting innovative pitches and ideas
  • Perform a variety of different administrative tasks.

Publicity Coordinator Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a public relations agency or media-related company.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects.
  • Creative writing ability.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Google Docs, and Slack.
  • High-level proficiency with PR software and tooling.
  • Must have a legal right to work in the U.S.
