Work Responsibilities

As a residential remodeling firm, Lamont Bros. conducts business across the Portland Metro Area — and we have to get building supplies to each job site every day. Our company needs a Purchaser we can rely on to ensure that our teams receive the supplies and materials needed to complete each project on time.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ordering materials based on design specifications
  • Live tracking purchase orders
  • Updating field teams on product delivery status
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key vendors
  • Provide feedback to design & production teams regarding pricing & availability

Key performance indicators

In this position, your success will be measured by the following 3 metrics:

  • Order confirmations
  • Variance product orders
  • Return success rate

Required Skills and Experience

With a variety of remodel projects ranging from kitchens to bathrooms to full-home renovations, you can expect to be constantly learning new skills and facing unique challenges ordering and tracking orders with many unique vendors as well as regular partners. As the person solely responsible for product acquisition for each project, you'll be expected to be a competent multi-tasker and very available to your team.

Excellent attention to detail, a firm understanding of supply chain best practices, and fine-tuned finance and communication skills will prepare you for success in this role.

Ideally, a strong candidate for a Purchaser position will have:

  • 3+ years of construction industry purchasing or accounting experience
  • Excellent skills in written and oral communication
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Physical capability to perform the following tasks
    • Occasionally driving a 14' box truck
    • Lifting up to 60 lbs.
