Job description
General Purpose: Acquires materials, supplies, and services, for both maintenance MRO & plant production required ingredients / items and closely works with Maintenance & Production to sustain an efficient operation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with SAP/MRO Systems and acquire “Super User” status
  • Audit daily open, overdue/ backordered, purchase orders/ requisitions to ensure they are accurate and on time
  • Research for a part or item in a timely manner
  • Gather equipment information required and review order to make sure it is correct
  • Maintain special order items status accurate and on time
  • Keep requestor advised of order status
  • Reconcile purchase orders to invoices, and submit to accounts payable in a timely manner
  • Work with all plant SAP specialist and Corporate to ensure SAP/ MRO programs operate satisfactorily
  • Communicate directly with OEM suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive cost and quality parts
  • Review opportunities for new supply sources and suitability of materials offered
  • Look for ways to increase purchasing / parts room efficiencies
  • Monitor and report any department discrepancies to maintenance management
  • Perform Physical inventory on Totes, Labels, boxes, bimonthly and reconcile with SAP
  • Participate in 5S program Audits
  • Attend all assigned pass-down meetings
  • Utilize purchasing, parts receiving and maintenance team member’s skills
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
  • Follow all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of the company through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Adhere to all Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
  • Responsible for monitoring and taking corrective actions when necessary for a critical control point as part of the plant HACCP plan
  • Ensure that all documentation is done correctly and turned in promptly
  • Participate in Buildings and Grounds inspections, coordinate periodic scale checks
  • Coordinate service of forklifts and scissor lifts
  • Work with EHS team on oil storage and hazardous waste inspections, coordinate removal of e-wastes
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. 2 years related experience preferred
3. CDL

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in Purchasing Preferred
  • Experience with inventory control
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational planning skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of SAP / MOR, Microsoft word, Excel & Access
  • Ability to accommodate, hour/schedule change as required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
