Flutes Hanna, a wholly owned subsidiary of Schwarz Partners and corrugated manufacturing industry leader, currently has an exciting opportunity available for Purchasing Clerk in Indianapolis, IN! The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for all production (manufacturing) related sourcing, purchasing and inventorying of supplies, parts and materials.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Promptly and accurately monitor, count and record the plant's inventory of all supplies, parts and materials.
  • Coordinate the prompt and accurate order and purchase of all supplies, parts and materials for the plant according to company policies and procedures. Does necessary research to control costs and spending.
  • Establish, maintain, and regularly use a computerized maintenance management system (MP2) to track inventory, work orders, spare parts.
  • Coordinate the distribution process for the plant, including the pick-up and restocking of incoming supplies, parts, and materials.
  • Attach appropriate packing slips to invoices for sign-off and payment.
  • Manage the work order and purchase order processes. Ensure that all purchasing-related recordkeeping is complete and timely.
  • Assist with end of month closing and maintenance purchasing account balances.
  • Provides input to appropriate leadership personnel regarding suggestions or methods that will improve plant maintenance and purchasing record keeping processes and procedures.
  • Participate in daily production meeting.
  • Perform office and clerical responsibilities as required to support the effectiveness of the maintenance department.
  • Complete and distributes reports when required or as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years' experience as a proven manager.
  • Clear, concise oral and written communication skills.
PREFFERED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • College degree.
  • Two years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the corrugated box industry.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Computer literate.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, manuals, and contracts.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
