About the Position
Flywheel is seeking a QA Engineer Manager for our XNAT QA team. Successful applicants will have leadership experience along with a passion for collaboration, risk analysis, preparation, and execution. This role requires integrated thinking along with technical experience working with a variety of technologies for the testing of Java APIs and web application frontend.

Responsibilities
- Directly lead and manage a small team of QA engineers tasked with both manual, exploratory testing and writing and maintaining automated regression tests.
- Mentor other engineers and share knowledge in a variety of forms.
- Maintain and improve automated test suites, leveraging TestNG and Selenium frameworks.
- Work closely with the engineering and product teams to develop innovative solutions that meet client requirements and mitigate risk.
- Participate in requirements and design reviews to provide perspective and ensure changes will be testable.
- Investigate, log, track, and triage bugs to determine root cause and establish prioritization.
What would make you a great fit
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, preferably in medical, financial, or similarly regulated industry.
- Direct experience in full-cycle QA: test planning, test designing, test scripting and execution, defect reporting, and triaging.
- A proven track record of elevating and mentoring other engineers.
- Deriving satisfaction from clearing roadblocks for others.
- An innate curiosity and creative approach that goes beyond the test plan.
- Clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience with presenting best practices to internal audiences.
- Ability to develop and enhance automation frameworks independently in Java and Groovy, covering both UIs and APIs.
- Successful application of QA Metrics and status reporting.
- Proactive relationship management with Software Development and Product teams.
