Role: Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Shoreham/Middlebury, VT

Reports to: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Position Summary: As a part of our commitment to quality, we are seeking to enrich our quality program and practices throughout the company, including normal production and R&D. The purpose of this role is to support our quality agendas through assessment and documentation of our products and processes at the Shoreham & future Middlebury facilities. This is a new business role and we anticipate the evolution of tasks and responsibilities as we grow the quality program.

Top Accountabilities:

• Perform routine sampling and testing of products, raw materials, and in-process materials (i.e. fermentation, etc.)
• Perform sampling and testing of liquids and packaging components to support R&D initiatives
• Document data and generate reports
• Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Document and escalate quality issues as they arise
• Support the build-out and maintenance of our Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety protocols (including ISO 9001 certification process)
• Maintain business-wide best practices
• Attend quality-related and production meetings

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• General lab skills
• Good communication skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Acumen for learning and growth
• General understanding of beverage alcohol production and matrices
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• 1-2 years’ experience in food/ beverage manufacturing environment, or 1-2 years' experience in a lab environment
• Experience developing and revising SOPs and writing summary reports
• Bachelor’s degree, in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) related field preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $46,000.00 per year
