Palmer Candy is hiring for Mid-Shift Quality Assurance Technician.

Quality Assurance Technicians monitor the quality of production and packaging of products in all Palmer Candy facilities. This position will be located at our Bluff St. facility and will work 4:00 pm to 2:30 am Monday – Thursday, with frequent Friday and Saturday work during our busy season.

A Day in the Life of a Quality Assurance Tech

• Responsible for the swabbing of equipment and environment as designated by plant procedures.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of paperwork and provide timely communication to appropriate personnel
• Perform Quality and Safety Internal Audits.
• Conduct necessary quality inspections using proper equipment and techniques.
• Responsible for gathering product samples and accurately packing, labeling, and shipping the product samples to outside laboratory.
• Ensure plant procedures are followed and provide timely communication to appropriate personnel
• Maintain record retention of quality assurance documentation.
• Monitor production processing via random QA audits.
• Assist with problem solving using root cause analysis and taking corrective action(s).
• Communicate QA related production issues to QA Manager and take immediate corrective action.
• Timely and accurate data entry of information into computer spreadsheets/databases.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data from a wide variety of sources and taking appropriate action.

Knowledge/Skill/Abilities

• Computer skills required, ability to use Word and Excel
• Accuracy with strong attention to detail.
• General knowledge of safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Ability to work alone or with little supervision.
• Must have punctual and reliable attendance.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 35lbs occasionally.

• Standing for long periods of time
• Navigate the manufacturing floor which includes a large facility with multiple different departments and level
