Job description
SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Tester I (Full Time Hybrid Remote) maintains and supports the Quality Assurance (QA) practice within the Programming team, including conducting end-to-end testing, maintaining project testing requirements and artifacts, and developing and executing test scripts. Works with the Programming team to develop a test strategy/plan and ensures that the QA practice meets business, technical, functional, security, and performance requirements through the software development life cycle (SDLC).
The hourly pay for this position is $30.65 - $45.98 depending on experience, skills, education and internal equity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops and executes moderately complex test plans, test strategy, testing approach, and test scripts for all Programming product releases in Symitar Episys, Java, Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft .NET environments
- Assists with unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Supports Go Live activities via thorough testing, resulting in successful product releases
- Writes, maintains, and executes test scripts
- Provides analysis and recommendations against test executions and test results
- Documents and reports test results for functional areas of responsibility
- Prepares reports and documentation for project teams
- Supports the Programming team by focusing on solving problems, implementing solutions, and by providing guidance to business units and team members
- Communicates daily with internal Logix teams and stakeholders to coordinate tests and provide regular status updates
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in software testing preferred
- 1 to 2 years enterprise QA Processes experience
- 1 to 2 years Agile and Waterfall development methodologies experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to analyze requirements, develop a test plan, develop a test strategy, create and execute test cases, track defects and report results
- Previous experience in enterprise scale testing standards
- Working knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile Development concepts
- Ability to gather and organize data, develop testing strategy, and to analyze, interpret, and formulate sound conclusions and recommendations
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgement in decision making
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication with strong analytical and problem solving ability
- Organized and detail oriented, able to effectively perform multiple/concurrent tasks within deadlines in a dynamic environment
- SQL testing, representational state transfer application programming interface (REST API), and continuous deployment experience is a plus
- Financial or Banking background is a plus
- Previous experience with automated testing is a plus
- Previous experience with Symitar Episys a plus
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, MIS, Engineering or related field preferred
