Job summary:

This position is primarily responsible for QC oversite of the packaging team. Oversees testing and inspecting
products at various stages of production process. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and
maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties personally or through
subordinates.

Main Job Functions:

1. Follow GMPs, SOPs, policies, and ensure that others on the line do as well
2. Ensure the quality and wholesomeness of the in-line and finished product, through vigilant surveillance
3. Ensure the batch records and other documents are filled out and entered correctly
4. Calibrate equipment and assist to prepare lines for packaging
5. AQL quality checks on finished products
6. Submit samples to lab for testing
7. Monitor rework to ensure it is done correctly
8. Check debris on magnets/screens as necessary and hold product as needed
9. ATP swabs, line clearances, releasing/holding product
10. Monitor yield and scrap rates
11. Make suggestions for improvement to processes
12. Report out-of-the-ordinary quality issues to quality manager
13. Communicate effectively as part of a team with packaging
14. Be reliable, dependable, and accountable for responsibilities
15. Monitor/adjust equipment and train others on how to do so properly
16. Help reduce product complaints for foreign material, defects
17. Other tasks as assigned by upper management
18. Assist in audits as required
19. Maintains retention samples area in good order, retrieve samples as needed
20. Checks other people’s work and provide feedback/training.
21. Other duties and functions may be assigned.

Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Associates degree required
Bachelor’s degree preferred

Work Experience:

1-3 years of Quality control experience in a food product manufacturing facility
Required Competencies:
Must demonstrate attention to detail
Collect and research data
Design workflows and procedures
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Ability to work well in group problem solving situations and exhibit sound judgment
Must manage competing demands while prioritizing and using time effectively
Ability to contribute to building a positive team spirit while displaying professionalism
Ability to operate an ATP swab machine (3M Luminometer NG3 unity)
Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine correspondence, instructions and procedures
Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations
Proficient in basic mathematical skills: able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and
fractions. Able to compute ratios and percentages
Must be consistently at work and on time
Ability to multitask
Expert in knowledge of GMPs and SOPs
HACCP training preferred-work experience

Work Environment:

This position frequently works in a warehouse manufacturing floor environment. Frequent exposure to noise,
fumes, dust or other airborne particles and work near moving mechanical parts or powered industrial trucks.
Frequent exposure allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and
soybeans.

Physical requirements:

This position is almost constantly required to stand, walk, listen, and the use of hands. Frequently required to
taste/smell, pull/push and seldom required to bend, kneel/squat and climb stairs and or ladders and lifting up to
50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.25 - $19.50 per hour
