We are looking for a talented and motivated Quality Engineer to join our team in the US. This is a full-time permanent position with the opportunity to work remotely.

A role you will love

As our Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking functional software testing to ensure that the level of quality delivered aligns with the organisational risk appetite through test analysis, design, implementation and execution, in line with agreed plans and strategies.

You will also create, prepare and implement system quality assurance reviews for numerous applications. Responsible for primary development of testing strategies. Will use independent judgment to perform complex analysis of business requirements and technical system specifications. Will execute test plans and scripts to facilitate complex testing activities.

Working with business areas and key stakeholders across all levels will be a key part of your role.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivery of Test Analysis, Design, Implementation & Execution activities to assess functional suitability of software delivered.
  • Solicits feedback in order to clarify/understand requirements and to draw out implied requirements.
  • Performs and applies risk analysis to assess likelihood and impact of software failure to define the optimum breadth and depth of test coverage.
  • Uses formal test design techniques to translate requirements into clearly defined, prioritised test cases.
  • Ensures clear traceability between requirements / acceptance criteria and test cases.
  • Utilizes recognized test management tools to prepare and execute test cases.
  • Recognises and logs valid defects in the relevant test / defect management tools.
  • Utilises test repositories & automation assets to reduce the amount of test preparation & execution effort required.
  • Test execution - accurately executes tests, comparing actual results with those expected.
  • Test Data Setup - accurately sets up test data to enable execution of testing.
  • Static testing - undertakes reviews to identify defects / ambiguities in requirements, designs, specifications & test cases.
  • Performs exploratory testing – defining test charters to give direction and purpose, understanding what information to capture and providing feedback to team on completion.

What will you bring to the role?

Your passion will be everything QA! You will be an analytical thinker with great attention to detail, to be able to identify and escalate risks or issues that may arise.

You will be a collaborative person who enjoys working as part of a team and is able to discuss challenges in a way that helps others to see them, understand them and work through them. Of course, a large part of this role is working with the wider business, so the ability to build effective working relationships with people at all levels will be a skill of yours.

You will also have:

  • 6+ years of testing or quality assurance experience in complaints services
  • 4+ years of Database Query experience
  • 4+ years of .NET or Java experience
  • 4+ years of RESTFUL or SOAP web services testing
  • 4+ years of Agile experience (Kanban/Scrum)
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions for test automation using Selenium and Java
  • 2+ years of HP ALM experience
  • 2+ years test frameworks, TDD/Cucumber using Karate framework

Preferred:

  • Knowledge and understanding of information Technology business systems analysis
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions and drive for resolutions
  • Experience in Splunk
  • Additional Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering qualifications.
  • Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for testing Public Accessible applications
