Primary Purpose Summary
Oversees the overall quality system and monitors its effectiveness to ensure delivery against quality department goals and objectives. Sets standards and creates control instruction and quality plans, both internally and for customers. Writes specifications for incoming and produced goods. Prepares inspection plans and instructions. Directly supervises Quality and monitors overall inspection effectiveness.
Detailed Description:Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes and solves quality problems, including responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Creates and implements sampling plan as appropriate for the product and customer.
- Trains production staff in quality procedures and monitors their performance.· Ensures effectiveness of the quality training system.
- Monitors and maintains system for accuracy of certificates of analysis (COAs) pert customer requirements.
- Performs internal audits.
- Analyzes costs and other quality data and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control.
- Creates and revises quality procedures and work instructions.
- Monitors and maintains customer complaints throughout the year.
- Ensures complaints are answered in a timely manner.
- Ensures accounting aspects are accurate.
- Submits, monitors, and maintains vendor complaints.
- Ensures accounting aspects are accurate.
- Monitors and maintains pest control system, protective clothing, and other PPE in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
- Monitors and maintains the documentation system.
- Maintains the ISO 9001 site certification, including audits and documentation
- Monitors all internal non-conformities and assists in trouble-shooting and analysis to determine root causes; drives implementation of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA).
- Manages and reports on key performance indicators to communicate quality performance throughout the company.
- Coordinates customer and certification audits, as required.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or other technical discipline preferred; a lesser degree or experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
Experience:
- 5 years working in Quality in a manufacturing setting
- Has conducted line trials or new line start-up approval following Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or similar
- Familiar with or has extensive experience using SAP, preferred
