The Quality Specialist, located in Kearneysville WV, will support company-wide AMS Group, Inc.’s quality activities as directed by the Quality Manager. In this position, the Quality Specialist will support AMS Group, Inc. and subsidiary company quality requirements and certifications to include supplier quality, internal quality audits, external quality inspections/certifications and associated quality processes and procedures.

The focus of this Position is to:

• At the direction of the Quality Manager, support business operations of company-wide quality activities across all AMS Group, Inc. locations and associated quality certifications through accredited 3rd party quality management system registrations.
• Support supplier quality audits and work collaboratively with Engineering and other AMS Group, Inc. stakeholders in supplier evaluation and selection process to expand our Aerospace & Defense supplier base.
• As a key member of the Quality Team, build effective business relationships with other functional and business leaders within the Torrance CA facility and support AMS Group, Inc functional leads.

Functional Responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Manager with in-process, receiving, testing (as applicable) and source inspections of Kearneysville WV facility, as well as other AMS Group companies, supplier orders for approval or identify of non-conformances. If identified as a non-conforming product, apply problem solving methodologies (e.g. 5WHY; IS-IS Not; Fishbone; etc.) and support the process lifecycle to identify the supplier non-conformance root cause and action to prevent it’s recurrence.
• Support the Quality Manager with Kearneysville WV facility customer complaints by verifying complaint validity and the associated process lifecycle for the supplier to rework or replace the product if determined to be non-conforming. Work collaboratively with Engineering stakeholders to review, approve and perform oversight of supplier recovery plans to deliver conforming product.
• Support the Quality Manager to maintain the Kearneysville WV facility Contract Quality Issue Log.
• Support the Quality Manager with the maintenance of measurement devices and ensure that their calibration schedules are maintained for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist the Quality Manager with Quality Management System (QMS) processes, procedures, and work instructions are maintained. Assist the Quality Manager with QMS Corrective Action (CAR) root cause process.
• Assist the Quality Manager with internal quality audits.
• Assist the Quality Manager populate customer solicited quality related forms for registrations to support new business opportunities.
• Support Quality Manager with associated quality certifications through accredited 3rd party quality management system registrations and standards compliance.

Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent people, organizational and people skills.
• Experience working within an ERP, preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and use of problem-solving tools such as 5Y, 8D, etc. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and associated technical data package documentation to include test procedures.
• Knowledge of measurement techniques, measurement devices and calibration methods.
• Minimum of a Minimum High School diploma
