SeeScan is looking for an experienced Buyer/Planner to support our team’s R&D activities. As an R&D Buyer, you will source materials and services for R&D projects, identify best-value opportunities, and establish and maintain vendor relationships. A tough and determined negotiator with thrive in this role.

Responsibilities

• Research and purchase materials and services to support R&D projects
• Perform cost analysis to ensure best value for purchases
• Process requisitions, release purchase orders using AX, develop EOQ worksheets, and track orders to ensure on-time delivery
• Monitor past dues and below safety stock lists
• Maintain efficient and effective follow-up system to manage exceptions and proactively update project stakeholders
• Source various components, assemblies (both electronic and mechanical), wires and cables, and miscellaneous requirements
• Analyze supplier spend and capacity to develop overall supplier engagement and vendor relationship strategies
• Follow environmental and safety regulations/acts in compliance with all state and federal laws
• Comply with and promote corporate guidelines on business ethics and safety

Education and Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ purchasing experience in the electronics/manufacturing industry
• Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline, or an additional 5 years’ purchasing experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
• Experience in procurement of electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), custom cables and cable assemblies
• Experience in machined parts is a plus

• Knowledge of and experience using an ERP system
• Microsoft AX experience is a plus

• Full proficiency with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills (formulas, charts, data merges, and use of functions)
• APICS Certification is a plus
