Real Estate Valuation Specialist


SUMMARY

Prepares market value estimates for commercial real estate collateral in accordance with regulatory guidelines and bank policies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the timely completion of real estate evaluations containing the sales comparison and/or income approach to develop market values, primarily for commercial properties.
  • Conducts proactive comparable research and verification through multiple sources such as MLS, CoStar and public records.
  • Assists with appraisal engagement and appraisal review.
  • Communicates with lending staff to develop a full understanding of the transaction and maintain compliance with appraisal and evaluation guidelines.
  • Reviews mortgage legal descriptions and surveys to properly identify collateral.
  • Stays abreast of all appropriate laws, and regulations relating to real estate valuation.
  • Maintains all required governmental licensing and certifications. However, no appraisals will be done by this function.


QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Commercial real estate evaluation experience or licensed real estate appraiser preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
