The overall objective/purpose of this position
These positions are located at our warehouse in Spring Hope, NC.
While operating a sit-down style, electric forklift, you will complete the processes to either receive in shipments of raw materials or to ship out finished goods from the facility. Perform the manual and clerical duties related to shipping or receiving. Employee will be assigned to either the shipping department or the receiving department.
Shift hours: Mon-Fri: 8am-4:30pm with flexibility to work over or report earlier
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a sit-down style, electric forklift
• Maintain strict adherence to safe operation procedures
• Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
• Pull finished product from inventory and prepare it for shipment
• Compare identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
• Complete shipping information in computer system, print item shipping labels and affix to appropriate boxes
• Unpack and inspect incoming shipments to ensure good condition
• Reject damaged items, record shortages, correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
• Route items to respective departments/ buildings
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Comply all clean up and housekeeping procedures
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must complete the Advanced Plastiform Inc. forklift certification course
• Basic computer skills and experience using handheld barcode scanners
• Basic math skills (count, add, subtract, multiply)
• Ability to work within structured time limits
• Demonstrate strict attention to detail

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Current and demonstrated experience with material handling (forklift operation) in a warehouse environment required

Physical Demands:
Must be able to walk long distances on a concrete floor, climb on and off of a forklift, lift boxes weighing up to 50lbs consistently while building pallets, walk, bend, stoop, and reach.
The facility is relatively quiet, with most noises generated by forklifts. The warehouse will experience varying temperatures, seasonally, throughout the year. The facility can be hot during the summer months and cold in the winter months.
