Job Title: Receiving Clerk

Reports To: Logistics/Warehouse Manager

Job Description: Hourly - Non-Exempt

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Purpose of Position:

Receiving Clerks are responsible for the manual labor operations involved in the transfer of product to/from production. The successful Receiving Clerk ensures minimal downtime in production operations. Receiving Clerk is responsible for keeping the presses equipment with rolls & sheets of paper.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Reports to Warehouse Manager any concerns to ensure that workflow issues are addressed and optimized.

· Works according to the direction given from the scheduler, as well as direction from Operations.

· Works with shipping supervisor, to ensure that product routing occurs on schedule in a cost effective manner.

· Communicates to Warehouse Manager when information received is not complete, or could be more clearly communicated.

· Communicates with scheduling to ensure that the necessary materials for projects are on hand and staged for production. Alerts management when materials are not available or do not meet requirements.

· Is able to read and interpret information from the e-ticket.

· Processes and produces daily paperwork.

· Compares incoming product to purchase order for quantity and accuracy. Reports discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager.

· Performs the physical tasks for the department including, but not limited to: handling materials to/from the production, maintaining inventory items, and communicating needs and schedules with production employees. At times, the individual may be required to also assist on production equipment, band/wrap skids, load/unload trucks, departments, process Fed Ex/UPS/Air Freight shipments, & operate the bailing equipment for recycling paper waste.

· Verifies load tags and carton labels for all products going to and from machinery and ensures that they are filled out completely and accurately based on the ticket information.

· Pays particular attention to the paper/roll needs of the Web Press.

Skills and Abilities:

· Baseline shipping/receiving knowledge and skill sets.

· Relevant equipment experience and training.

· Ability to operate/maintain certification for shipping equipment (forklift, hand truck, etc.)

· Knowledge of applicable shipping/receiving procedures.

· Knowledge of general maintenance procedures.

· Ability to anticipate problems and head them off.

· Ability to communicate/understand written as well as oral instructions

· Basic math including fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

· Demonstrate positive safety attitude.

Requirements:

This job description requires Low risk/Low Security data attention.

Physical Demands:

Requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire shift. Necessitates frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 40 pounds and on occasion, more. To move objects by lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling. Requires the ability to bend and twist at the waist, stoop or crouch, and kneel on an occasional basis. Occasionally requires reaching, handling, and hand-to-eye coordination. Vision requirements include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, full field of vision, and 100% color vision.

Education, training, and experience. Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
