Located on 47 acres in Mora, MN Recovering Hope’s campus includes co-occurring residential and outpatient substance use treatment, and outpatient mental health services.

Current Shifts Available

Full Time:
Evening Shift Tuesday - Saturday 3PM -11PM
Overnight Shift_ Tuesday - Saturday 11PM -7AM (Starts at $17 per hour)_
Part Time: Sunday - Monday 3-11PM

Summary
The Recovery Advocate plays a valuable role in the day to day direct client support. Recovery Advocates are responsible for facilitating the recovery activities of clients, coordinating the necessary administrative tasks related to client care and acting as a representative of the treatment staff. In addition, the Recovery Advocates maintain a visible presence in the unit, circulate throughout the building and are alert to safety hazards and accountability of the clients.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the recovery activities of clients.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living.
  • De-escalate problem behaviors with clients.
  • Update client records as appropriate and necessary.
  • Provide supervision and redirection in interactions.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the unit by circulating through the building.
  • Be alert to fire and safety hazards.
  • Facilitate groups and completion of cleaning duties.
  • Transport clients, as needed.
  • Provide treatment services as directed by the treatment team in accordance with section 245G.10, subdivision 3.
  • Serve as a positive and compassionate role model to clients, children and families.
  • Conduct room checks, as well as room and vehicle searches
  • Assist as necessary with the intake and discharge processes.
  • Monitor clients’ whereabouts and document in the Rounds book every hour, encouraging attendance in activities and groups.
  • Monitor client activity on cameras and check in clients returning to the facility.
  • Facilitating visiting hours for the clients and their visitors.
  • Ensure building is secure by setting the alarm system.
  • Conduct wake-up rounds to ensure clients are up at the times designated for the day.
  • Coach parents in interactions with their children.
  • Administer medication in accordance with treatment plans.
  • Conduct drug tests through urine analysis or breathalyzer.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive environment that is welcoming to all.
  • Strive to be a positive influence on others, including clients, peers, and community members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of others, including clients, peers, and Recovering Hope.
  • Treat other with courtesy and respect.
  • Maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Ability to take accountability for ones own actions and take pride in ones accomplishments.
  • Proactively work with others to accomplish the mission of Recovering Hope and the success of our clients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred but not required)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred but not required)
  • Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record.
  • Successful completion of a clear background screening.
  • Ability to attest to being free from problematic substance use for two years preceding employment.
  • Physical ability to perform the responsibilities required including but not limited to: bending, stooping, sitting, walking, and lifting 30-40 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
