As the Recreation Coordinator I, you will oversee the County’s Park activities and assist the attendants in the park. You will perform routine work and repairs as needed or as emergencies situations occur.

Monitor County Parks, providing excellent customer service and enforcing park rules, policies, and regulations.- Evaluate field conditions, closing fields deemed unplayable and communicating to facility users.
- Gain knowledge of grounds keeping and building maintenance practices.
- Assist supervisor and co-workers with programming and other services as needed.

- Possess a valid Florida Driver’s license.

High school graduate or equivalent.
1 or more years of work experience in recreation or a field related to area of assignment, to include customer service and cash handling experience.
- Level 2 background check required within 30 days of hire.
- Valid driver license required; valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire.
- Community CPR and First Aid certifications required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- If assigned to the Aquatics Program, up to 1 year of experience as a lifeguard and in aquatic programming and maintenance required.
- If assigned to the fitness program, personal training certification required.
Desired
Associate degree in recreation, education, business, public administration, or related field.
A comparable combination of education, training, and work experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position, may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
