POSITION: Red Cliff Food Distribution Warehouse Manager/Summer Food Director

LOCATION: Red Cliff Food Distribution

SALARY: $18.00 - $20.00

SUPERVISOR(S): Food Distribution Director/Family & Human Services Administrator

THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible in the maintenance, stocking, and inventory, of the warehouse portion of the Food Distribution Program. Also responsible for the certification and re-certification of Food Distribution Clients. To oversee the operation of the Summer Food Program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Warehouseman:

  • Responsible for receiving, stocking, dating, and rotating all inventory.
  • Responsible for the security of the food located at the warehouse.
  • Ordering USDA foods & produce
  • Forklift operator certification within first 60 days of hire.
  • Assist Director in program budgeting and placing requisitions.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Attend all related training as required.
  • Responsible for home delivery of commodities.
  • Must be able to issue and distribute food to clients through the computer system.
  • Assist in the filling of orders, unloading trucks, etc.
  • Actively participate in receiving applications or recertifications, processing the forms, and maintaining accurate records of clients.

As Summer Food Director:

Responsibilities include:

  • Submitting the yearly Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) application.
  • Daily recording and record keeping of program numbers.
  • Creating the Summer Food Budget.
  • Reviewing the State Agency Monitoring requirements.
  • Managing eligibilities for accuracy of all meal sites.
  • Applying for USDA Summer Food Commodities.
  • Reviewing daily and weekly production records for accuracy.
  • Arranging for Summer Food program Food Vendors.
  • Placing weekly Food Vendor orders, receive and inspect orders.
  • Arranging for Sanitation Site inspection and certification.
  • Reviewing the Summer Food Program menu, creating healthy daily menus.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Summer Food Employees

KNOWLEDGE: Basic knowledge of computers, basic math skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of high school diploma, HSED or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to lift and move containers of USDA commodities.
  • Prefer individual with prior computer experience or must be willing to learn computer skills.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of all Food Distribution Program information.
  • Forklift operation experience, preferred.
  • Forklift operation certified, if not, must be obtained within first 60 days of hire.
  • ServSafe certified, if not, certification must be obtained within first 60 days of hire.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver's eligibility as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be put on the Tribe's vehicle insurance policy.

PERSONAL CONTACTS: Daily with supervisor and community members and Summer Food Staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds routinely, occasionally greater than 60 pounds. Repeatedly bending, lifting and other physical type movements also involved. Operate the Summer Food program in all types of weather.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Food Distribution Building which has offices and warehouse. Locations throughout Red Cliff for delivery and Summer Food meal sites. All Tribal buildings are smoke free buildings.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel locally for home delivered orders. The ability to travel and attend meetings and trainings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally.
