Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Sourcing
  • Accountable for regional category performance to deliver lowest total cost for materials managed
  • Develop, implement and manage proactive strategic sourcing strategies for materials
  • Align sourcing strategies with Global Procurement, businesses and key stakeholder goals
  • Benchmark materials and drive cost savings projects for materials managed
  • Conduct RFQ/RFP's and negotiations with suppliers to deliver highest value for Sika
  • Create local sourcing and price management strategies aligned with key objectives
  • Identify, develop, and lead qualification of new suppliers to reduce risk and drive highest value
  • Evaluate supply risk and formulate risk mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate regional issues/requirements with the Global Procurement team
  • Monitor key cost drivers for materials managed
  • Monitor, track, and improve supplier performance
  • Support Product Creation Process (PCP) for all aspects of product life cycle, especially new product introductions and interactions with suppliers to onboard new suppliers and materials
  • Accountable for accuracy of information in SAP and other corporate systems
  • Possesses a very good knowledge of SAP and follows Procurement policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with other departments to reduce non value-added work related to procure to pay process
  • Work in a professional and ethical manner with suppliers and others
  • Works closely with internal customers and stakeholders for all aspects of procurement process
  • Focuses on improving internal efficiency and procurement compliance
  • Provides monthly updates to manager and key stakeholders for materials managed
  • Responsible for formal presentation on a regular basis on cost reduction activities, process improvements and their implementation along with their cost benefits.
  • Communicates in an open minded and multicultural friendly environment
Qualifications:
  • Cross functional experience in purchasing and/or sales for a specialty chemical company
  • Education: B.S. / B. A. degree (Technical area preferred)
  • C.P.M. or APICS certification a plus
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Proven track record for cost reductions and TCO
  • Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP knowledge a plus
