REMOTE- This position can be based anywhere in the contiguous US as long as you are near a major airport.
Travel- This position will require periodic travel based on business needs (Approximately 25%)

The Regional Controller is the financial leader of a portfolio of hotels, responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, adherence to Davidson’s process and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and communication of financial results to stakeholders. With the regional operations team the Regional Controller plays an integral role in the financial planning process, including budget development, forecasting, and cash management. Their responsibilities include the training, coaching, organizing, and coordination of the activities of assigned hotels’ accounting teams, and corporate accounting resources. The position reports to the VP Hotel Accounting

Responsibilities
  • Leader of the financial processes for the hotels within the region, working closely with corporate and regional leadership, to produce superior results.
  • Serve as a financial advisor and resource to hotels’ financial and management teams.
  • Resolve accounting issues and communicate proper procedures to hotels and to the centralized accounting staff.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to complete audits as needed.
  • Assist in hiring, training, supervising, motivating, and developing General Accounting Staff at hotel level.
  • Review, analyze, modify, and implement efficient and effective general accounting processes.
  • Ensure all monthly Hotel Financial Statements are prepared in accordance with standards, reviewed for accuracy, and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Review Profit & Loss Statements for accuracy.
  • Review and research any entries or results that appear inaccurate, unexplainable, or that creates significant variance with planned or historical results.
  • Produce monthly financial reports as required or requested.
  • Review all monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and proper support in accordance with approved processes.
  • Provide information to third party owners as required or requested
Qualifications:
  • Prior hotel accounting experience
  • Experience in closing multiple hotels
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • 4-year bachelors degree
