ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Institute for School Reform in the College of Education is nationally recognized research and training center that provides technical assistance to school districts and other service delivery leaders throughout the United States. The ISR's $20 million budget is derived from grants from federal, state, and private sources. It is the mission of the ISR to implement research-based and innovative practices in Florida Schools though the use of technical assistance, training, coaching, and program evaluation. The ISP, through various projects, seeks to help enable all schools in the state of Florida to provide a safe, effective, and efficient environment; to continuously improve the academic and social/emotional growth of ALL students; and to engage families and communities in the schooling process.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Coordinator position will provide training, technical assistance, and supports to Florida school districts on the implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS); design and deliver professional learning to individual districts' personnel as well as in regional and statewide venues; deliver training and technical assistance through a combination of virtual (e.g., webinars, online modules) and face-to-face media; and contribute to the development and publication of products designed to be resources to school and district personnel (e.g., guidance documents, fact sheets, manuals).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working knowledge of MTSS including how to use data to inform instruction and intervention and to evaluate outcomes.
- Experience implementing MTSS at the school and district level.
- Experience designing and delivering professional learning to school and district personnel.
- Interpersonal skills to support successful collaboration with a variety of educational partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and deliver trainings to school and district personnel to build capacity for multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) implementation and to improve student outcomes. Trainings are delivered through multiple media and formats (e.g., online modules, webinars, face-to-face) and address a number of MTSS related topics (e.g., data-based problem solving, implementation fidelity, developing consensus for implementation, response to intervention).
Plan for and deliver technical assistance to school and district personnel to build capacity for MTSS implementation. Regional Coordinators use data and information to plan for and monitor technical assistance provided to school and district personnel. Planning for, delivery of, and monitoring of technical assistance occurs collaboratively with school, district, and state personnel, and is provided through multiple media and formats (e.g., online webinars, face-to-face).
Design and disseminate products that provide information and resources to stakeholders interested in MTSS implementation. Products include printed and online materials (e.g., modules, fact sheets, tools, worksheets) disseminated to school, district, and state personnel as well as parents and other partners.
Participate on taskforces and workgroups designed to monitor and support implementation of best practices and to improve the outcomes of students. Responsibilities include participating in face-to-face, phone, and virtual meetings with state and school district personnel to plan for and evaluate services to improve outcomes for students.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, Adult Education, or equivalent field with one year of experience in a professional training position; or a Master's degree in the same field.
PREFERRED:
A Master's degree or higher in school psychology, educational, leadership or related area. Five years' experience in facilitating multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) implementation at the school and/or district level. Experience in a leadership role in facilitating MTSS implementation. Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating professional development for educators implementing MTSS.
