Position Summary/Objective:
As a member of the GCE – Branch Sales team, you will lead a team of regional sales managers to grow sales and customer base while maintaining the high standard of customer service apparent throughout the company. You will report directly to the Vice President of Branch Sales and provide presentations to the Granite City Electric Steering Committee.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate with Regional Sales Managers and Branch Managers to grow branch sales and expand customer base.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
- Create and communicate sales goals and ensure executives are informed on the progress of those goals.
- Communicate with Operations team to create new strategies regarding logistic efficiency.
- Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
- Conduct research on competitors and industry trends.
- Drives recruitment, employee coaching, and team development within sales region.
- Interact with Pricing and Purchasing teams to predict inventory needs based on sales growth.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from the Marketing Department, Regional Sales Managers, and the VP of Sales.
- Identifies and resolves customer issues; acts as the customer’s advocate.
- Advises customers of new product and provides technical knowledge of products.
- Report on forces that shift strategic directions of accounts and tactical budgets.
- Travel to Sales Branches within your territory to build relationships with sales team as well as customers.
- Work closely with Marketing department to allocate proper resources to specific branches and target areas for Business Development needs.
Competencies
- Robust knowledge of electrical distribution industry including products and customer needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to finish.
- Exceptional listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of services and products.
- Knowledge of how to develop client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of time.
- Basic knowledge of sales software like Eclipse and/or Hubspot.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as Business Administration.
- 10+ years in Electrical Distribution industry
- 5+ Years in Sales Management role
- NAED Certifications a plus.
- All education and certification requirements may be waved in lieu of hands on industry experience.
